Why kWh limits?
Shared chargers suffer from uncontrolled consumption: one car stays plugged in all day, costs become unpredictable and other users wait. kWh limits share energy fairly and keep your budget predictable.
What can you limit with Üreticy?
- Daily allowance per driver: give each driver a daily kWh allowance, or a one-off allowance for a specific date.
- Weekly and monthly rules: set a weekly (starting Monday) or monthly (starting on the 1st) kWh cap per driver or vehicle.
- Per-vehicle (plate) limits: if several people share a car, attach the limit to the vehicle; the plate is recorded on each session automatically.
- Hard or soft enforcement: in hard mode charging will not start and running sessions are stopped; in soft mode charging continues and only a warning is raised.
- Station access: choose whether a driver may use all stations or only selected ones.
How are limits enforced?
When a driver taps a card, the OCPP software checks the remaining allowance during Authorize; a driver with no allowance left cannot start, and the rejected attempt is logged with its reason. While charging, consumption from MeterValues is tracked live and a remote stop command is sent the moment a limit is exceeded.
Every reached limit creates an alert in the dashboard and, if you use the API, an alert.created webhook to your own systems.
Who uses it?
- Companies and fleets controlling staff charging costs
- Residential sites giving residents a quota
- Hotels and shopping centres offering limited free charging to guests
Frequently asked questions
Does charging really stop when the limit is reached?
Yes. In hard mode Üreticy sends a remote stop command over OCPP and does not allow new sessions. If the charger rejects the command, that is recorded as a separate alert.
When do limits reset?
Daily limits reset at midnight, weekly limits on Monday and monthly limits on the first day of the month.
Does it work with every charger?
It works with any charger that supports OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 or 2.1 and accepts remote stop commands.
